Our Travel Bursary scheme

Many schools need to hire coaches to visit the Museum. While this is not a problem for some schools, we are aware that it prevents others from visiting us because the school does not have the budget to afford coach hire and does not serve an area where parents can afford to contribute.

What does the bursary cover?

We can offer up to £250 towards coach costs for one school per term*. The cost of the school session at the Museum is still payable by the school.
*Please note the coach costs will be reimbursed on receipt of a copy invoice from the travel company up to the value of £250.

Who can apply?

Our Travel bursary scheme is set up to identify primary schools who might be most in need of financial support. We accept applications for the bursary from primary schools with at least 25% of pupils with a free school meals entitlement.
