Collections Database
Don't forget to search our Collections Database. More images of documents from the archive are gradually being added to the descriptions already there. You can download these images for research for free. 

Buying digital images on CD
Many - but not all - of Roald Dahl’s manuscripts have been digitised and these images can also be used for research. You can buy complete manuscript drafts on CD in Adobe PDF format. One 700MB CD costs £20 + VAT, with postage and packing at £2.50. The number of manuscripts which can be included varies depending on how big the files are. As a rough guide, we can usually fit 5 full manuscripts onto one disc.

To place an order, please contact collectionqueries@roalddahlmuseum.org with the reference numbers of the items you would like to buy and your full postal address so we can send you an invoice.  You will receive an order form/copyright declaration to sign which confirms the order and price. 

We aim to complete orders for images within 10 working days after a signed order has been received. As these files are despatched on CD please allow extra time for it to reach you.

Photocopies
Photocopies of loose papers can be provided for 42p each (+ VAT, postage & packing £2.50).  We reserve the right to refuse a photocopy request if the documents to be copied will suffer damage as a result.  Please remember that items in copyright cannot be copied in their entirety without the permission of the copyright holder.

Bibliography
Before you begin your research using the archive, try and find out as much as possible about Roald Dahl from secondary sources.  We have compiled a bibliography which includes all the books written by Roald Dahl (most of which are still in print), the major biographies of his life and a few items of literary criticism.
