Roald Dahl’s archive and the Museum collections
Roald Dahl’s unique archive is at the centre of the Museum’s collections, containing manuscripts, photographs, letters and mementoes from his eventful life. This is supplemented by over 200 objects from his writing hut, and an increasing collection of films, documentaries and books relating to his life and work. This provides the most comprehensive source for research on Roald Dahl in the world.
You can download a summary of the whole archive from the links on the right side of the screen - then you can start using our Collections Database to find out more information about each item.
These pages also give more details about how to visit the Museum's Reading Room for further study and what information is available to researchers who aren't able to make the trip and visit us. A page for picture editors tells you how to place orders if you want to use any of our archive images for publication. Please see the menu on the left of the screen.
